Whilst the cricket season is now in full-flow for senior and junior members, the Club Committee remains very active away from the pitch as part of a continuing commitment to develop and improve facilities and section capability moving forward. This is especially important this season given the exciting proposals being progressed by the Sports Club to develop the ground and facilities. A key element of this commitment is the Club Development Plan, which has been agreed by, and is subject to continuing review, by the Committee. This Development Plan provides a framework and focus for the section moving forward and the Club is determined to be innovative and ambitious, building upon progress made in recent seasons.
Key elements of the Development Plan and objectives include:
- Continued commitment to Clubmark and ECB Safeguarding policy to ensure a positive, safe cricketing experience for our junior membership
- Representing the interests of the cricket section whilst contributing to, and supporting the Sports Club plans to develop and improve club facilities
- The development and implementation of a Recruitment Plan for girl cricketers from local primary schools
- To review and build upon links between the junior and senior sections, further developing opportunities for junior members to train and play in senior cricket
A full copy of the Development Plan is available for members to review here and Play-cricket site.
Additionally, the Committee is considering a consultation process across the Membership to ensure Member's views and requirements are considered and reflected and built into future planning and section management. Further details will follow later in the season.
