We are a friendly and welcoming volunteer-led multi-sports and community club located in Sale on the southern border of Greater Manchester. We have a brand new Clubhouse with state of the art changing facilities and a superb bar and function space, including a balcony overlooking the cricket and tennis playing areas. We also offer community membership if you don’t want to play a sport.

The Club has hosted over a century and a half of sport. Sale Cricket and Quoits Club is recorded as being founded in 1854, although reports suggest that games had been played on the Barn Field (as the ground was known at the time) for several years beforehand. Other sports have come and gone, but Tennis (1879) and Hockey (1888) have stood the test of time.

In 2018 the Club was registered as a Community Benefit Society. In addition to our sporting activities the Club is committed to use our facilities to serve the local community within Trafford and to create positive social impact in the areas of Health & Well-Being, Education, Culture and the Arts, and Recreation and Leisure.

We have a number of sports sections including Cricket, Tennis, Men's and Ladies' Hockey, Rugby and Junior Football.

In addition we host a broad range of exercise and fitness activities such as Yoga, Pilates, Walking Netball, Walking for Health, Fitness Classes.

If you are looking to hire a great venue for your family celebration or perhaps run a conference then visit the Venue Hire page to check out what we can offer.
