Duerr’s Support Junior Cricket

Sale Cricket Club has received a cash boost, thanks to Manchester based jam maker, Duerr’s.

Duerr’s, who are the oldest family-owned jam maker in England, struck up a partnership with the club earlier this year and now supplies match and practice balls for all junior teams.

Richard Duerr, Sales & Marketing Director at Duerr's, said: "We are happy to be able to sponsor Sale Cricket Club, being such a local club to ourselves and hope that the Club's coaching programmes go from strength to strength".

Paul Battersby, Chairman of Sale Cricket Club, added: “The sponsorship from Duerr’s is a real boost for the club. Over the last 10 years we have developed our facilities to rival any in the area, and developed a nationally recognised coaching in schools programme.”

“We have achieved this through the hard work of our dedicated volunteers who put in countless hours to benefit the local community.  This support from Duerr’s will enable us to continue to invest in our facilities and grow our coaching programmes.”

He added: “Support for local clubs like Sale is crucial as the investment increases the amount of cricket played and helps the children reach their full potential.”

Sale has over 100 boys and girls competing in 10 teams from under 9 to under 18.  Junior coaching takes place every Monday evenings from 5pm for girls and from 6pm for boys.  Sessions are held at the club’s Dane Road ground, new members are always welcome.
